A Little Stitching Progress and Two 'Pretty Places' Free Patterns

Hello again! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and got to eat just a little more chocolate than usual. I admit, I indulged in way too many a few Cadbury Easter Creme Eggs.  So yummy!  On the stitchy front, I have been stitching a bit on two of my wips and hope for a little more time to wrap them up. They certainly are small enough that most stitchers would have them done in few days but not me, lol. Oh well. I try.

Here is an update of my wip of the pretty Amitié freebie from Martine290.  As you can see, I have a little helper. See how carefully she is pulling the thread? We most certainly have a future stitcher in the making here folks.

Again, I'm stitching with WDW 'Azaleas' as the main colour on 32 Lugana 'Mountain Rose' by Silkweaver and have added WDW 'Linen' as the secondary colour.  I was going back and forth between several colours for the second colour and driving myself nuts in the process; so many choices! I love the flower in this pattern!

Next up is my progress on my own pattern, 'Sweet Stella'.  I tried something different by stitching the outline of the chick first and this has worked well for me. I tend to make mistakes because of the distractions around here and don't want my precious stitching time to become frogging time.  The frog hasn't been by in while but watch, now that I'm talking about the beastie, he'll be here shortly. Tempting fate again....tsk, tsk.

Today I have a two-fer for you!  Two freebies in one post!  They are small, spring-like patterns that are part of a series called 'Pretty Places'. I will be adding to this series as more inspiration fills my head.

'Primrose Farm'
(61 x 72 stitches)

'Amethyst Acres'
(53 x 69 stitches)

I hope you enjoy these little patterns! I must get going now....time for dinner and tacos are on the menu. I love tacos. :o)

Cheers,
Erynne

  3. Stella looks so adorable pulling that thread! How did she become a young lady so fast?

Lovely stitching. I like to outline pieces when there are large blocks of color too. Then I don't have to refer to the pattern often, besides cutting down on the mistakes.

The start of this series is fabulous! I can't take my eyes off of that cute little windmill. Thanks so much!

    1. With regards to Stella....I know! It's crazy how fast she is changing and Im having quite the time of it in trying to keep up with her! And of course, she wants to be like me and do what I'm doing. I totally expect she will be a stitcher, a crocheter and a knitter. Oh and maybe a gardener! :o)
I love the little windmill too! Thanks for visiting today

    1. Hiya Sue! She sure has a way with the thread already! I let her pull the thread through and she is very careful and gentle. Pretty good for 18 months old. Maybe she'll be onto samplers by the time she's three? Ha ha, JK!
