Welcome to my new followers and readers! Good to have you stop by! I (we) have been rather busy trying to sell our home and for anybody who has ever done this, it can drive you batty. Especially the clean & tidy part. I mean, I keep my house clean but I'm not always tidy. I don't always do my dishes straight away or make my bed the minute I hop out of it (or at all). And sometimes, you might bump into a dust bunny if you were to visit. C'est la vie!
Today, I have a few pictures to share with you that were sent to me by fellow stitchers. First up is a great 'Creepy Hollow' door hanger finish by Marty. It was stitched with Belle Soie Noir on a 32 ct Birds of a Feather linen that is a "nice warm gold/brown". I just love the fabric and how it is trimmed with chenille which was dyed black by Marty.

Thank you for sharing your photo, Marty!
Next up is an adorable 'Silly Snowquake' ornament finish by Kate of By the Babbling Brook blog. I love to see this little guy done up in different colours and really like the green floss chosen here. I think I need a green Silly Snowquake now to go with my blue, pink and red ones. Love your choice of backing fabric Kate!
Thank you for sharing your photo, Kate!
Now amazingly enough, I have a few things to share today too! Here is an old finish that I had lingering around in my finished & forgotten drawer. I have to remember to go digging in there again to see what else I can whip up for instant gratification. It is a free pattern called 'Keys to My Heart' by Erica Michaels that can be found on the Rainbow Gallery freebie page. This finish is going on 5 yrs old so I don't remember the name of the fabric but I'm guessing it is an oatmeal 16ct aida. The floss used would definitely be DMC as well as the metallics but I can't remember what colours I chose. I decided to finish it as a card which I will be giving to someone very soon!
I also have a 'Creepy Hollow' finish to share today. I had initially thought to finish this one as a treat bag but switched gears and went with a little pillow finish instead. I will have to stitch another one of these for the treat bag sooner rather than later. I crocheted the trim with black floss and followed this pattern to make my trim. I really like this pattern because you make the length of trim you need as you crochet. I chose variation 1. I stitched in the number 13 on the house to make it extra special for the person receiving it. :o)
Creepy Hollow stitched on 28 ct Tobacco with WDW Onyx.
Here are my wips that are in my current rotation for this week and both are freebies found here on my blog. The first two photos show my progress on Li'l Pumpkins and the third photo is the start of Merry & Bright.
I'm using my recommended floss & fabric in the pattern for Li'l Pumpkins.
The start of Merry & Bright being stitched on 32 ct Vintage Pear. I ran out of the fabric I had originally chosen.
Well, I'm wrapping up this post as I have to get to work. I hope you all have an awesome weekend and long weekend for those celebrating Thanksgiving. The Erin Fall Fair is taking place this weekend and our little family can't wait to go for our annual visit. I love the talent show best where children sing in front of a big crowd. So brave eh?
Cheers,
E

Hi Erynne, I am so happy I found your blog I have started the SAL and I am going to stitch each one into an ornament and the large one for myself.

Thank you! Would love to your ornaments when you finish them!
DeleteLove the finishes. I've always planned to do that key design myself. I'd forgotten all about it.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the link to the crochet edging. I'm always looking for the ones that don't require a foundation chain. That's a perfect Creepy Hollow edging.
That edging is my kinda edging! If you know of different ones out there, let me know.
